Janet Marie Briscoe born to the late Howard E. and Helen M. (Saunders) Briscoe on March 25, 1940 in Finleyville, PA
She was educated in Monongahela School System (now Ringgold District) and obtained her high school diploma in 1958. She was married to William Wayne Smith Sr. and was blessed with three children Helen Marie, William Wayne, and Deneen Anne,.
Janice was employed at Kaufmann's and later went to H.J Heinz where she retired after many years of service.
She was also an EMT for the now dissolved Union Township Ambulance Service and served many years and also worked for Canonsburg Ambulance Service.
Jan (as some affectionately called her) was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Finleyville who loved to bowel with her Wednesday league, attend different church events and to was actively involved in her community senior group. She was nan avid reader and loved to watch her crime shows on any given day as well as shopping on QVC or HSN (but who doesn't).
She went back into the workforce in 2019 for Mlaker Bus Company transporting special needs children for the Ringgold School District.
She was preceded in death by her parents Howard E and Helen M (Saunders) Briscoe, her husband William W. Smith Sr. her brother Howard Briscoe, and daughter Deneen A, Jancuski
Janice leaves to cherish her memory children Helen M. Parker (Richard) of Columbus, GA and William W. Smith Jr of Gastonville , PA an uncle Howard " Joe " (Joyce) Saunders of Pittsburgh ; grandchildren Amee' and Blaze Parker of Columbus, Ga and Taylor Odle ( Nicolas) of Dallas, TX; a great-granddaughter Britton L. Parker of Columbus, Ga as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
