James Kimbrough, a loving and kind husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend, died at the age of 98 years after living a life full of love and laughter. James was born and raised in the neighborhood Lawrenceville of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, the sixth child and third son of Walter Kimbrough and Mattie (née Howard) Kimbrough on April 17, 1926, he was the proud graduate of Westinghouse High School and served with distinction as sailor in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Known for his artistic abilities, James was a trained draftsman and talented jazz singer, known to be found singing in local music venues in the 1950s and 60s. In 1965, he married his beautiful bride of 59 years, Constance Faye Drake, and ultimately established residence in Wilkinsburg, PA, and worked for approximately 40 years at Westinghouse R&D in Churchill, PA. Over the years, in addition to raising their two children, Linda (Maddie) Kimbrough Lindner and James Erik Kimbrough, James, and Faye happily participated in the lives of a host of nieces, nephews, children in their neighborhood as well as any child or person who crossed their path. James died of natural causes surrounded by the love of his family. His generous and kind spirit will be missed, but always in their hearts.
