James A. Clark, Sr. was born on December 30, 1937, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, to the late Emma Clark and James H. Clark. He departed this life on June 5, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. James was a dedicated and hardworking man who spent many years employed at the Heinz factory in Pittsburgh, where he worked in packing and shipping. Known for his reliability and strong work ethic, he was proud to be part of a company that served generations of families in the community. He enjoyed a full and vibrant life. James loved to travel, bowl, and had a deep appreciation for music. He was a passionate sports fan, especially devoted to his beloved Pittsburgh Steelers. He also found joy in fine dining, movies, and spending quality time with family and friends. A man of deep faith, James was a devout member and usher at New Light Temple Baptist Church in the Hill District of Pittsburgh, PA, where he served faithfully for many years. His presence in the church community was consistent and full of quiet strength and dignity. James was preceded in death by his first wife, a host of brothers, and his beloved son, James A. Clark, Jr. He leaves to cherish his devoted wife, Lynette V. Clark, and two loving daughters, Darlene Carr and Lynelle J. Bethune. He is also survived by his cherished grandchildren: James V., Lynae, Laurence, Jason “Adam,” Walt (late), Rena, Renee, and Reana, along with a host of greatgrandchildren, other family members, and dear friends. James A. Clark, Sr., will be remembered for his strength, faith, humour, and unwavering love for his family. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
