Herman Alan Mosley, fell asleep in death with his daughter by his side at Shadyside Hospital on Tuesday, January 12, 2021, at the age of 72.
He was born March 18, 1948, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Robert Mosley and Thelma Grooms Mosley. “Herm” as he was affectionately known, attended Westinghouse High School playing football for the Bull Dogs, and was a proud member of the 1966 graduating class, a veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving his country during the Vietnam era, and spent his professional career in media communications and advertising becoming the first African American Deputy Director of the Pittsburgh International Airport.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Herman and Alma Grooms, his parents and his brother, Robert W. Mosley.
His memory and legacy will be forever cherished by his devoted wife of 46 years, Cheryl; his adoring children, Brice Mosley, Eric Johnson (Jaun’a), and Tyrone Anthony (Kristen); his beloved grandchildren Jasmine White (Quinten), Caesar Mosley, Robert D. Mosley, Journey Johnson, Oscar Mosley & Ja’Kiah Johnson; his faithful sisters, Robbin Henry (Johnny), and Kimberly Caldwell and his lifelong best friend, Terrence Taylor. Following cremation, an interment ceremony will occur at Allegheny Cemetery on Saturday, January 23, 2021, at 1 o’clock when Herman will be laid to rest with his grandfather, Herman Grooms.
