Helen Ruth Oley

Helen "Mick" Ruth Oley (Micklick), age 75, of Mt. Vernon, PA, passed away on March 21, 2024. She was born January 24, 1949, in Springdale, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Stella Micklick (Smith) and sister Diane Baranowski (Micklick). She is survived by her husband, John Oley, daughters Jennifer Oley and Jessica Orczeck, son-in-law Charlie Orczeck and two granddaughters, Bell and Faith.

She graduated from Springdale High School in 1966, achieved a Bachelor's in Education with a minor in music from California State University and a Masters in Teaching from the University of Pittsburgh.

She was very active in her children's lives, always ready to volunteer for their activities, including Girl Scout Leader, Softball Coach and EF Band and Volleyball boosters.

Helen was an elementary teacher, piano teacher, eastern star, travel agent and licensed tour guide. She loved sharing her knowledge of our country's history and famous landmarks during her tours. She enjoyed traveling and cruising around the world with her husband.

She will be deeply missed by her friends and family.
