Hattie Mae Beatty was born on May 16, 1941 in Pittsburgh, PA
She attended the Pittsburgh, Public Schools attending the Fifth Avenue High School.
Hattie worked at Penn Overall Laundry on Lincoln Avenue until 1968.
She became a member of the Church of Christ, Beechview Blvd in December 1975.
Hattie loved music but most of all she loved to dance, dance, dance. Your talking about the life of the party…. That was HATTIE. She was very out Spoken and would tell u like it was in a heartbeat. Like it or not she was a straight shooter but overall she was very kind hearted, loved children an she loved to cook for family gatherings. Hattie was the glue that kept the family together.
On Thursday, April, 9, 2020 Hattie Mae Beatty departed this life at West Penn Hospital (AHN) Pittsburgh, PA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sidney and Carrie Elizabeth Cox; siblings, Carrie Bates, Roberta Cox, Bertha Nixon, Margaret Miller, Barbara Duke, Daisy Clark, James Cox, Charles Cox, George Cox, and Edward Cox; and granddaughter, Ashley Marie Beatty.
Left to cherish her memories are her children, Marcia, Alford, and Dorease Beatty; siblings, Claudette Singer of Detroit, MI, Betty Goldsmith, and Hazel Cox-Oliver of Pittsburgh, PA; 4 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren. She will truly be missed
