Harry "Bo Peep" Rose Obituary

Harry Charles Rose, also known as “Bo Peep”, was born to William Thomas Rose and Bernadette Morris-Rose on March 18th, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the third son and fifth child of seven children. On Saturday, July 6th, 2024, at 10:53 AM, at the age of 72, Harry received a summons from his earthly house and duties to make his triumphant transition to glory looking toward Heaven.

Harry was raised in a loving, praying, and Christian environment, where manners, respect, and consideration were mainstays in the Rose household. In his youth, he and his younger brother served as acolytes for St. Phillips Orthodox Science Church in Homewood, where their father was a Deacon, and their mother was Sister Rose as well as a Stewardess.

In the late 1980s, Harry became a mentor, counsellor, and father figure to the youth in East Hills Pittsburgh and the surrounding area. Always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced, Harry became a cherished confidant.

Harry committed to dedicate his life to serving others for God. Ministering, speaking, and volunteering at local churches, he finally took the step on January 21, 2018, and was ordained as a Pastor by Reverend Pastor Franklin D. Rose, Sr. of Miller Street Baptist Church.

Harry was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan, often playfully called out for his resemblance to the legendary Franco Harris. In 1975, inspired by the Steelers capturing their first-ever Super Bowl championship, Harry, along with his brothers and friends, founded a fan club called the Knights of the Black and Gold. This club became a close-knit community of Steelers fans, celebrating their team’s victories and enduring the losses together.

Harry “Bo Peep” Rose loved bringing joy and excitement to the community with fireworks every 4th of July.

Harry was preceded in death by his parents, William Thomas Rose and Bernadette Morris-Rose, his sister Gloria Jean Rose-Green, his brother Regis Clinton Rose, brother-in-law Ronald Green, sister-in-law Karen Rose, sister-in-law Peggy M. Rose, and his beloved nephew Ronald Curtis Green.

He leaves to cherish his fond memories:

His daughter Enid Williams; grandchildren: Kiante Williams, Malik Williams, Jzada

Jones; his great-granddaughters Adiel and Apple.

His former wife Veronica Ray, step-daughter April Ray, and stepson Kenneth Ray; his brother William Thomas “Sonny” Rose, his sister Bernadette Elizabeth “Pee-Wee” Rose-Monroe, his brother Melvyn “Red” Rose, and his sister Veronica (William) Flournoy, as well as many cherished cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of other beloved loving family and friends, extended family, faithful parishioners, and a host of Saints and friends. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
