Harold Vincent Burgess was born in Franklin, PA August 7, 1939 to Charles and Betty Burgess. He moved to Pittsburgh in 1944 with his family and grandmother, Rose Law. He learned about Jehovah at a young age from his mother and grandmother.
In 1959, he graduated from Westinghouse High School. Harold always had a job, and a car. He worked at St. Margaret's Hospital until 1964 and was then employed at Swindell- Dressler, an engineering and construction company. He went on to work for the US Department of Agriculture and finally the US Department of defense, finally retiring in 2006.
1964 was a good year for Harold; he met Amy Brice and they married on June 12, 1965. From that 55 year union came 3 beautiful children-1968-Jacquelyn, 1971-Jennifer, 1976-Harold, Jr. He loved his family and loved to travel the country and the world with them. He took his family to Hawaii, California, Georgia, Ohio and Aruba. It brought joy to his face watching his family enjoy themselves; especially backyard gatherings and big family dinners especially the annual Burgess Superbowl Party. Great food, good drinks and good company.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Paul, Walter, Richard, James and Wayne, and sisters Marie and Betty, and his great-grandson, Dacion. He leaves a grieving family, his wife Amy, daughters Jacquelyn (Dennis) and Jennifer, and his son J.R. His grandchildren: Devvon (Janiece) DaLynn, Bryce (Azasha) Denae and Jamier. Great grandchildren: Dezmond, Dru and Jaxen. Ine brother, Robert (Delores) sister-in-laws Marie, Carol (Richard,) Karen, Helene, Vivian, Bernice and a bonus son, Ricky and countless nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, all his favorite. They all knew their Dad, Pap, BB and Uncle Harold loved them. We look forward to the hope of seeing him again in the resurrection that Jesus promised in John 5:28-29.
