Gloria Jean “Jeanie” Taylor, 83, of Pittsburgh, PA, entered eternal rest on August 7, 2025, in her hometown. She was born on May 11, 1942, to Fred and Margaret Williams and grew up in Pittsburgh surrounded by family, faith, and a strong sense of community.
Gloria's life reflected a deep commitment to hard work and care for others. She worked at Mellon Bank, contributed her skills in the construction industry, and eventually fulfilled her dream of owning and operating her own daycare. Through her work, she touched the lives of many children and families, always offering a nurturing environment.
Her greatest joy came from her family, but she also had a love for adventure. Jeanie enjoyed traveling to new places, visiting different casinos, and tending to her plants at home. Her warmth, laughter, and love of life were constants that drew people to her.
Gloria is survived by her children, Silas Jr. & Deborah, Shelena & Raymond, Velva & William Sr., Carmen & Antione Sr., Kevin Sr. And Gloria; her sister Vernell; 17 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, dear relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Taylor; her parents, Fred and Margaret Williams; her brother, Donald; and her children, Martin, Ernie, and Regina.
