Gloria Lucille (Lindsay) Morton, known as "Glo," was born on March 14, 1952, to Mary Magdalene (Farr) and Willie C. (Dug) Lindsay. She grew up in Pittsburgh and attended Penn Hills High School, where she met her future husband. Together, they had one son and one daughter.
“Glo” practiced Christianity her entire life, joining various Baptist churches as she moved. She was active in youth, women's, senior, usher, and stewardship ministries. In her final year, she returned to Pittsburgh and transferred her membership to Baptist Temple Church. Her favorite verse was Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."
She spent over twenty years as a Licensed Practical Nurse in various medical settings, including skilled nursing facilities, hospitals, health departments, and Spelman College’s infirmary. She enjoyed her work and often discussed the profession with interested young people.
“Glo” enjoyed dancing, gospel music, travel, time with her grandchildren, and wearing her favorite color, red. Her family remembers her humor, particularly her photography jokes and requests for help with taking selfies.
“Glo” passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 23, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, her brother L. Charles Lindsay, and her daughter Syreeta D. Morton.
She is survived by her son Robert S. Morton (Marcia), foster daughter Mirrissa Cruz (Melvin), sister Tami A. Lindsay, brother James R. Lindsay (Cynthia), five grandchildren (Priscilla, Mariah, Joy, Azarías, Adán), one great-grandchild (Jaden), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
