Geraldine Prince Obituary

Geraldine Prince was born to Wille Ray Murphy and Marie Debose on July 12, 1952 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She passed peacefully at Shadyside hospital on Sunday April 27, 2020.

Born and raised in Homewood, she was educated in the Pittsburgh public school system and graduated from Westinghouse high school. She went on to receive certifications as a meat cutter for Giant Eagle industries. She worked for Giant eagle for 43 years and was happy to retire in 2017.

Beauty is who she was. She exuded that in every aspect of her life. Geraldine was loved by everyone. She deposited in to everyone she encountered, be it a smile, a hug or words of encouragement. She was generous, honest and very dedicated. She had true staying power. When things got tough she always pushed through. When challenges arose she faced them head on. Princess as she was affectionately called, loved being showered with attention. She loved grand gestures and would be the first to extend her helping hand for whatever was needed. She was thoughtful. She remembered everyones birthday and was sure to send out Christmas cards every year. She was a loving Mother, Wife, Grandmother, great advisor and a true friend. She encompassed the truest essence of a genuine woman. Ms Gerri also loved a great time, a good celebration, a cold beer and a hearty laugh. Many of her neighbors will remeber her days of sitting on her porch enjoying the sunshine and time with her friends.

She was preceded in death by her 4 brothers William (jr), Carl , James and her twin brother Gerald.

Geraldine was known to many. Nee-nee to all the neighborhood kids. She was affectionately know as Princess because everyone held her in special regard. Geraldine loved to love on people. She would give the shirt off her back and make

everyone in her presence feel loved. She was an avid reader. She would have a book in every room and never confused the plots. She was loving, she was kind. She was feisty. She gave hugs. She was friendly to all, no enemies to recall

She leaves behind to mourn a loving husband Jerry, daughters Angela Jones, Antoinette Jones, Ronda Jones-Cain (Robert Cain), Jerry Prince jr, Jermel Prince, Shafina Prince, sister Deloria Burris, Beloved grandchildren India, Paris, Robbie, Malaysia, Rori, Robert jr., great grand children, Daionne, Jace, Ava and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A Celebration is being planned and will be held at a future date. Stay tuned. We all know Princess loved a gathering of friends and family.
