Geraldine Louise Farrish

Geraldine Louise (Carter) Farrish was born June 29th, 1933, in New York.

Geraldine was born to Andrew Lyle Carter and Margaret Martin. Geraldine came to Pittsburgh, PA and was raised by her two aunts, Bertha Carter and Cleo Harris.

Geraldine attended Baxter Elementary/Junior High School. She went on to attend George Westinghouse High School and graduated in 1951.

Geraldine met and married Walter Thomas Farrish, Sr. who were married for 40 years, until his death in 1991.

Geraldine worked at Moore's Restaurant on Homewood Avenue. She later went on to work for the Pittsburgh Board of Education. She worked as a Custodial Engineer for 37 years.

Geraldine Farrish was wife, mother, a grandma, Gi-Gi, and a friend to many. She moved to 7106 Hermitage Street in March of 1970.

She resided in that residence for 54 years. Geraldine Farrish was full of fun, love, and laughter. Her favorite saying to her children was, "Whatever you do, do it good. Whatever you be, be the best."

It was nothing to come to her home on a Friday/Saturday to find chicken frying in the kitchen, a Spades game at the dining room table, a Bid Whist game in the living room, Earth Wind & Fire blasting from the stereo, and a Miller's at a constant flow. Let's not forget the home-grown KFC... If you know, you know! (Jamie, George, Eric, Tausha, Sharone)

She embraced any and everyone who crossed her path. She never met a stranger.

She was the epitome of Love! She poured love into everything she touched. She was a firm believer in family and fun. She loved having parties. She didn't wait for the holidays to come around or a reason for the season. She knew how to perform all the line dances until she couldn't anymore. And don't sleep on her potato salad and coleslaw!

Geraldine is preceded in death by Walter Farrish (Husband), Margaret Farrish (Daughter), and Eric Johnson (Son).
