Gail Robinson Obituary

Gail O’Neil Robinson was born on October 26, 1955, in Helena, Arkansas to Melvina Robinson and Eddie Carter Senior. Gail was baptized at an early age; she was 1 of 10 children. Gail attended Penn Hills High School, where she met her future husband Kerby Juan Richardson. Kerby and Gail got married after graduation and moved to Chicago. Gail was a model that studied business. During that time, she learned shorthand, dictation, and bookkeeping. While living in Chicago, they were expecting their 1st daughter Juana. Shortly, after they moved back to Pittsburgh to be with family, where they had they’re 1st son Sekou. Gail had many talents. She was an amazing seamstress, mother, sister niece, and aunt. Gail prided herself on always being there for everyone, especially her family. Gail’s family was sprinkled all over, however, she made it her business to keep in touch and cultivate natural and genuine relationships with each family member. She was the glue that kept her family together. Before retirement, Gail was a permanent fixture at Calgon Corporation, Fisher Scientific, before finishing her career as Lead Executive Assistant at Allegheny Technologies. When Gail did a job, she did not believe in doing it well, she wanted it to be excellent. Now if you knew Gail, you knew she was a class act. She always greeted you with her signature smile with the deepest dimples you have ever seen. Gail was the essence of a beautiful, strong, fearless, and selfless woman. She loved her family, friends, the “Pittsburgh Steelers” and listening to her favorite D.C. radio station WHUR. Gail was preceded in death by Melvina Robinson, Mary Ida Rowry, C.L. Rowry, James Smith, Debbie Terry, and Kerby Juan Richardson. She has cherished memories with her children: Juana, John, Jillian, and Jazzy Wiley; Sekou, Nadeerah, Nia, Victorious, and Significant Sankofa. Brothers: Eddie Carter, Ronnie, Stanley, and Harrison Smith. Sisters: Sandra K. Smith and Jackie Robinson. Aunts; Ora Lee Barnes and Lillie Cage. With a host of cousins, nieces, and nephews.
