Florence Elizabeth MasonWilliams (Mama TuTu), the daughter of Ned and Ella Huff Mason was born and raised in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. She was graduated from The University of Pittsburgh (BS.in Education, MS in Counseling). Florence spent much of her early career as a teacher at the Warrendale Instituteand The Bradley Home. She was devoted to helping children with special needs (a storyteller to the core). and she counselled adults with addictions at the Salvation Army Harbor Light Center. While serving at the Homewood Salvation Corps she was called to an international ministry. Her commitment to service extended beyond our borders. Florence established The Elizabeth Estates Children’s Home in Nassau and The Nest in Jamaica. She was the Administrator of a Nursing Home in Suriname and also served in Antigua. She had the rare honor of meeting influential figures such as Queen Elizabeth, President Nelson Mandela of South Africa and Bishop Desmond Tutu.
After returning home to Pittsburgh, she became affiliated withthe West Side Corps where she participated in the Sunday School, Vacation Bible School, and the Women’s league.
