Evonne Allen

Evonne Allen, age 65, of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, peacefully passed away on December 13, 2025. She was born on September 16, 1960, the youngest of six children born to George and Florence Allen.

She was a graduate of Peabody High School, class of 1978, and later attended the University of Southern California. During that time, she met and married the love of her life, Michael Allen, and from that union came their loving son Arik Allen.

Evonne dedicated 28 years of service to Gateway/Highmark, where she served as Director of Provider Relations. She took great pride in her career and deeply valued the relationships she built there, affectionately referring to her colleagues as her work family, "The Gateway Gang" Evonne found great joy in traveling, especially trips to Aruba with friends and family. She also had a passion for home decorating, which led her to co-found and interior design business with her dear friend, Robin Gaines. Her creativity, warmth and eye for beauty were reflected in all aspects of her life.

Evonne will be remembered for her loving spirit, her dedication to family, and the meaningful connections she formed throughout her life.

Her presence brought comfort, laughter, and love to all who knew her.

Evonne was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Florence Allen, her brother Stanley Allen, and her sister, Joanne Weathers.

Evonne leaves to cherish memory her devoted husband, Michael Allen; her beloved son, Arik Allen; her loving pooch, Rocky; her siblings, Barbara Poindexter, Jimmy Poindexter, George Allen Jr. (Liberty) In-Laws; Donald Allen (Delores), Perry Allen (Helen), Brian Allen (Kelly), and David Allen (Lorie); her brothers-in-law, Willie Oakley and Ronald Foster; her favorite cousins, Shelia Stevens (Lawrence), and Rosalind Reynolds; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members and dear friends.
