Evelyn Inez Missouri

Evelyn Inez Missouri peacefully departed this life on May 29, 2026, at the age of 89. Born on January 1, 1937, in North Braddock, PA, Evelyn lived a life marked by love, faith and service.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her mother, Helen Vire; her father, William Woods; her sister, Willardine Woods Taylor; her brothers, Thomas Thompson Bey Jr., and William Woods Bey; her daughter, Phyllis J. Bey; her granddaughter, Orissa E. Bey; and her great-grandson, Kholen M. Germany. Evelyn was also preceded in death by her former husband, Willie Leroy Missouri.

She is survived by her loving children: Jeanine M. Bey, Ramone O. Bey, William F. Bey, John T. (Elizabeth) Bey, Deborah (Ronald)Whitmire, Winifred T. Spivey, and her daughter-in-law, Pamela Nichols. She is also survived by her dear siblings, Christine I. Thompson Bey and John M. Thompson (Denise)Bey, along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Evelyn was blessed to witness three generations of descendants. Her legacy continues through her 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. In her later years, she was especially supported by her granddaughters Bria and Brandi, whose efforts and dedication helped ensure she remained safe and well cared for.

Faith was the groundwork of Evelyn's life. She was an active and dedicated member of the Covenant Church of Pittsburgh for more than 30 years, where she faithfully served and worshiped with her church family. Her commitment to ministry extended beyond the church through missionary work and the prayer line, where she shared God's love with people all over the world.

Evelyn was a hardworking and respected professional throughout her career. She worked for the University of Pittsburgh and later retired from Cornerstone Television Station, where she was admired for her dedication to their Ministry.

Outside of her professional and church commitments, Evelyn had a passion for traveling and exploring new places. She embraced opportunities to experience different cultures, meet new people, and serve others through her missionary work in Mexico.

Evelyn's life was a testament to strength, perseverance, faith, and unconditional love. She was a faithful servant of God and a cherished friend to many. Though she will be deeply missed, her legacy of love, service, and devotion will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
