Eugene Curry was born March 4, 1942 to Lenwood (d. July 19, 1954) and Mattie Marie Curry (d. June 27, 2003) in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania..
Raised in a loving close-knit family, Eugene learned the values of faith, perseverance, and service at a early age. He was baptized at Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Wilkinsburg where he remained a faithful and devoted member throughout his life. Eugene served as an usher for many years and found great joy in the fellowship until his passing. Early in life, Eugene secured work at Grogran Brothers Moving as a mover, and then as an janitor at West Penn Hospital. Later he transitioned from the hospital to working for Wilkinsburg School District as a janitor, where he served for little over 25 years and retired from that position with full benefits.
Eugene was preceded in death by his father, mother, and brothers (Lenwood, Donald, Roland, John, and Bruce Curry). He leaves sisters to mourn his passing: Darlene Embry (d. Micheal Embry), Sandra Marie Mason (d. Joseph Mason), Diane Curry Randolph and Beverly Louise Diggs; close family Elaine Curry (sister-in-law), Margaret "Peggy" Pope, Nelson Diggs, and as well as a host of nieces and nephews and a growing family of great-nieces and great-nephews and a multitude of other family and friends. Eugene deeply loved his church family, and held special affection for Deacon Morris Richardson, and Sister Darcey Terrell.
