Evangelist Esma Haines Monica Bailey Small (Haines) always said "Falling in love with Jesus was the best thing she ever did."
Born June 5, 1944 in Brownstown, Jamaica to Ivan & Agatha Bailey. Haines graduated from Wilkinsburg High School and later worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for the Veterans Administration and private duty.
She met and married, Reverend Tommie L. Small Sr on April 6, 1970 and worked as a LPN while raising their 6 children. Haines also co-ran a small restaurant with her husband, Tee's Delight. In 1980 she went on to become a licensed Evangelist and served as the First Lady at The Living Word Apostolic Assembly. Evangelist Small loved hosting Bible Study, Sunday School and winning souls for the Lord.
She is survived by her husband of 51 years, Tommie Small Sr, children, Twanda (Jason d.), Tommie Jr (Shayla), Timothy, and Matthew Small along with a host of grand and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ivan & Agatha, children, Althea and Monica, and grand/great-grandchildren, Aleese, Aleesia and Renardo.
