Ernest Clifford Moye, Jr.

Ernest Clifford Moye Jr. also known as Ernie was born to the late Elva & Ernest Moye Sr. on December 27th 1945 in Pittsburgh PA. Ernie accepted Christ at a young age and joined Good Samaritan Baptist Church along with his mother and siblings. He later attended Friendship Baptist Church, Macedonia Baptist Church, and New Pilgrim Baptist Church. As Ernie’s health declined, he became an honorary member of New Light Temple Baptist Church.
Ernest attended Pittsburgh Public Schools. He was employed at St Francis Hospital for many years. East Hills Apartments, Lawrenceville Recycling Company, East Liberty Electric Platting Company and worked other various labor jobs.
Ernie liked washing his cars, listening to music but most of all he liked spending time with his family. He was a mentor to all his nephews and a teacher of real life experience. Ernie loved listening to music and telling funny stories, he was the chef at the cookouts with the hat to match. He was the baddiest coolest dresser and anyone would tell you that. He taught his children that which shows today. He loved his Steelers as we all do even when they were playing terrible.
On Wednesday, June 24, 2020, Ernie departed this life for life eternal at home with his wife and daughter, Altovise and family by his side. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Bernice Edwards, Lillian Crawford, Mae Francis Griffin, Hazel Paul, and Arlene Harvey.
Ernie was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Carolyn Marie Moye of over 50 years; his children, Dionne (Kirklyn) Peek, Ernest Moye III and Altovise (Leon) Lewis; Grandchildren, Jamaal (Krystal) Peek, Shawn Michael Peek, Kayla Peek, Rayonna Harrison, Rayona Harrison; great-grandchildren, Tyree Jackson, Dontah Peek, Brandin Johnson, Ramiyah Peek, Kristi’Auna Peek, and Jaydison Peek; and Brothers- in-law, Robert (Loretta) Millender and Stanley Harvey; Sisters-in-law, Shirley Glymph, Sherrie Price, and Doris Jamison; A very special niece, Audree Demus that was like his daughter; and a host of very special nephews, nieces, cousins and relatives and some that were life-long friends
