A Life Reflection OF ELIJAH VALENTINE 1931 - 2020 Elijah Valentine, the second of three sons born to the union of Vivian and Maggie Valentine was born on on Friday, December 4, 1931 in Greensboro, Alabama.
Elijah enlisted in the United States Army and received an Honorable Discharge once his time in service was completed. On April 19, 1964 Elijah gave his life to Christ and united with Baptist Temple Church. Although he was quiet in nature, he was very dedicated. Not only was he a faithful usher, he would also video tape programs that the children performed for various Holidays and volunteer to help in any other areas where needed. During this time he found a true friend, Ernestine Evans and her son Jeff whom he enjoyed sharing a part of his life with and who helped him through some tough times.
Elijah was employed with the UPMC Health System. It was here that he met and married his wife, Margaret in 1972. Their union brought together more family for him to love, her daughter Mona Mack, her children and grandchildren. In his later years, Elijah suffered with health issues that caused him to spend time in the hospital, Rehabilitation Centers and eventually a Nursing Home .
On Saturday, November 21, 2020 Elijah Valentine closed his eyes on this life as we know it and has gone to reunite with family members and friends who had preceded him in death….his parents, His wife, Margaret, siblings, Clyde, Lewis and Rubye; and his special friend in life, Ernestine Evans. Elijah leaves to mourn his passing, George (Rhodell) Valentine, Columbus, OH, Karen Valentine, Detroit, MI, Jeff Evans (Michelle), Philadelphia, PA, a number of other relatives ; his Baptist Temple Church family and many friends.
