Doris J. Hopkins

On Tuesday, May 31, 2022, the death angel visited and sealed the lips of Doris Jean Curry Hopkins and turned her eyes toward the sunset. She departed this world to meet her Master and hear him say " Sit down and rest my child"

Doris was born in Buffalo, New York to the union of the late Amy Lee Curry and the late Young Coleman Curry.

Doris was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School Systems, and had a gift of sewing, knitting and she loved playing Bingo. Doris went to Bingo every Friday night and would take a bus to go out of town on a Bingo tour.

Doris did not have children of her own, but many loved and called her "Momma Doris".

Doris is preceded in death by her mother and father; three brothers, Raymond, Roderick and Bobby; two sisters, Betty and Rosemary.

She leaves to cherish her memory, Sharon Curry, Brenda Gossett, Loretta Galloway of Pittsburgh and Vanessa Curry of Charlotte, NC; one brother-in-law, many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends.
