Donna Marie Proctor

Donna Marie Stewart Proctor was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Donald Stewart and Mary Jim Simpson on Easter Sunday, April 5, 1942. She attended Pittsburgh Public Schools and was a 1960 graduate of Westinghouse High School. Upon graduation from high school, Donna attended the Shadyside School of Nursing. In 1963, Donna, affectionately called Stewie by her classmates, graduated from nursing school. Donna continued her education in nursing by obtaining a master’s degree in public health and administration from the University of Pittsburgh. Her nursing career spanned more than 40 years.

Donna’s passion was caring for others as a nurse, but nothing brought her more gratification than caring for her two children. She became a mother to a son, Shawn, in 1967. Eleven years later, in 1978, Donna welcomed a daughter, Allison. Donna loved her children dearly, but her greatest joy was being a grandmother.

Loving memories of Donna will remain with her children Allison (Naron) and Shawn (Jai), her grandchildren Jasmine, Jordan, Shai, Shane, Naron II, and Nicari, her brother Albert (Charlene) and a host of other relatives and friends.

Donna passed peacefully surrounded by her family and caregivers on Friday, June 28, 2024. Donna lived a full life and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
