Donald Law Jr.

Donald Law, Jr., the son of Donald Law, Sr. and Katie Campbell Law, died on Monday, November 16, 2020. Mr. Law was born on March 5, 1948 in Jackson, Mississippi. Donald Law, Jr. was a stellar athlete. In high school, he excelled in baseball, basketball, football and track. He attended Michigan State University where played football and received his bachelor’s degree and later obtained his master’s degree from there as well. 

No one who met Donald Law, Jr. forgot his infectious passion for sports. In the 1960’s, Don was a part of the wave of black athletes recruited by Michigan State University that were instrumental in desegregating sports in the Big Ten Conference, finishing with All Big 10 honors his junior and senior year. He was inducted into the Mon Valley Sports Hall of Fame in 2011 and the Fayette County Sports in 2018.

He is remembered by his family and loved ones as always being calm, happy and easy going. He always led with a smile and soothing words of encouragement. He leaves behind a daughter, Dawn Jones, two sons, Donald Law, III and Derryll Johnson, a brother Anthony Law and a sister Brenda Law Lowery, 2 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. He will be truly missed.
There will be a memorial service Friday, March 5, 2021 in Uniontown, PA.
