Donald Alfred Kenley was born on October 5, 1955, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was the beloved son of the late Avis Jackson Kenley Walker and Ottaway Kenley. Donald peacefully departed this life on December 7, 2025.
Donald was educated in the Penn Hills School District and was a proud graduate of Penn Hills High School.
He was a devoted father to his biological daughters, Monica Kenley and Renee Kenley Irvin. Monica's children---his cherished grandchildren---are Semaj Brown and twins Marquis Sims and Maquia Sims.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents, Avis Jackson Kenley Walker and Ottaway Kenley; his sister, Saundra Truss; and his brother Michael Kenley.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving siblings: Mary Martin of Guatemala, Janet Irvin, and William Kenley, along with a host of family members, friends, and loved ones. From childhood, Donald loved the Lord. He was self taught on both piano and organ and possessed an anointed singing voice that he shared everywhere he went. He faithfully used his God-given gifts without complaint, always greeting others with his familiar response, "I'm good."
Donald was highly intelligent, generous, and selfless. He was known for giving to others even when it meant doing without himself--giving away his coat or his shoes because someone else needed them more. He was truly a giver at heart. Donald was appreciative of his nephew, Courtland Kenley who assisted him in daily care. His great nephew Corey was also instrumental in his daily care.
He had a special way of making people feel valued, greeting them warmly with terms of endearment like "baby," "honey," or "my Man," which instantly made them feel loved and seen. He loved the Bible and was everyone's favorite, often singing the Lord's Prayer.
Donald was a faithful member of New Evangelistic Ministries under the leadership of Overseer Pastor Dorothy Stubbs, where he served actively and participated in church activities. Beyond church, he was a singer, a weightlifter, and a devoted helper. He lovingly assisted his grandmother, Avis, with activities. He had a way of bringing people together and was beloved by all.
Donald Alfred Kenley will be remembered as a loving, giving, kind, and compassionate man whose life reflected his faith and love for others, His legacy of generosity and devotion will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
