Donald Howard Obituary

Donald Clarence Howard, Sr. "Puddin" was born on June 4th, 1939 to his parent Pink Howard and Della Stoudmire in Pittsburgh, PA where he resided for the duration of his life. He was called to his resting place on March 31, 2021. Donald attended Fifth Ave. High School, which he took pride in. Donald really loved Cars and built a career of 40 years as an auto reconditioner. He worked at Walker's Porsche and Audi Dealership for 15 years, where he took early retirement to venture into his own family business with nephews Randy Howard and Lamont Preston known as Howards Auto Reconditioning. He was such a hard worker when he retired from the family business he took a job with Channel 11 WPXI newsroom. Donald loved Jazz music, one of his favorite artists was Kenny G, you could always hear it blasting from the garage as he worked on cars in his back yard. Don also had a love for good food in which he would take his wife and kids on dates exploring restaurants all over the city. He loved to take great care of his family and there was nothing he wouldn't do to keep them happy. He loved children as they loved him back. He raised a lot of neighborhood kids which he was known as "puddin". Don had a special love for sports which he shared with his two best friends son Donald, Jr., and grandson Otis Jordan. Needless to say, he was a diehard Steeler fan. He enjoyed sitting in his recliner watching a good movie, game or all the news channels. He was a man of a few words and kept to himself a lot but loved to tell jokes, laugh, and had lots of wise tales. He was very generous and kind. Donald met Jean Turner with whom he had two children that loved him dearly Olivia Turner and Donell Turner. Jean also preceded him into the heavens. He then met Carol Gasette whom he was married for 20 years, Carol preceded him into the heavens as well. In 1983 Donald met Carla Hawthorne and married in 1996. They have two children Alana Hayes and Donald C. Howard, Jr. On August 9, 2021, will be their 38-year anniversary together. It was a love that was one of a kind, he was her rock as she was his. Literally, until death, they part to God Be The Glory. We will forever rejoice in your name and memory. Donald was preceded unto the heavens by his mother and father Pink Howard and Della Stoudmire, sisters Honey, Lorette, Della Mae, and Ruthie Howard, as well as brothers Leonard and Pinky Howard. Donald is Survived to cherish his wonderful memories by his wife Carla Howard, his sister Mary Lee Howard, Loving mother-in-law Doris Goyette, his daughters Olivia Turner and Alana Hayes, his sons Donell Turner and Donald C. Howard, Jr., goddaughter Keona Angell, grandchildren Otis B. Jordan III, Daonal Howard III, Ashley, Shaunteze, Jamell, Elyse, and Noah Turner, along with a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and a lot of other family and friends.
