DeShawn W. Davis

DeShawn Walter Davis was born on Easter Sunday, April 11, 1993. He was the son of Angel Lynn Davis and Walter Lowrey,

DeShawn (Shawn) affectionately well known as "Shizz" throughout the city of Pittsburgh, where he was born.

He had an exuberant personality, yet humble and beautiful presence. He was the bright light in every room. Anyone that had the pleasure of meeting and getting to know Shawn, loved him.

He was a lyrical genius and an information enthusiast.

As a youth, Shawn found great beatitude in the church. Going with his siblings and the neighborhood kids in Homewood on Kelly Street. Shawn was extremely happy after getting baptized. As he grew, he would faithfully walk from Kelly and Sterrett to East Liberty each and every Sunday, often calling his aunt Linda to see if she was going to church. She happily took him and his siblings.

His big sister Sharaya recalls that only a couple of his friends were aware of just how passionate and dedicated Shawn was about "never" missing church on Sunday. In his heart, Shawn knew his Lord and Savior.

He became a compassionate young man that spoke life and laughter into everyone he encountered. Very laid-back, always open for discussion on any subject, quite an intellectual. And lovingly known to pop-up on his friends. Shawn was a loving Dad to his beautiful daughter Dior.

Shawn was known and loved in many different ways. He was in fact, "multi-faceted" like a diamond in the rough. Not perfect, just keep in mind, not a single human being is...all are just mere mortals.

His infectious laugh, brilliant smile, generous heart and unwavering loyalty were admired and loved by all. He understood the importance of family and friendship.

Shawn is survived by his daughter, Dior Davis, his mother, Angel Lynn Davis, his father, Walter Lowrey. Grandmothers, Viola Jackson and Pauline Lowrey. Siblings, Walter Lowrey, Andrew Lowrey, and Todd Davis. Janaya Lowrey, Sharaya Davis, Raven Lowrey and Ranell Lowrey.

And a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, other family and friends.
