Cora Ramona (Harvey) Cephas

Cora Ramona (Mona) Cephas was born on May 21, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. She passed away peacefully, joining her late mother and father (Florence and George Harvey, Sr.) Along with her three late siblings, Debbie, Gerald, Jr. and Cookie.

Mona was raised in Pittsburgh, PA. and was a 1979 graduate of Peabody High School. Mona pursued additional education graduating from the Hosanna House program in child care. With this training she worked in childcare for over 30 years.

Mona was a homemaker and a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Mona enjoyed her home and loved to entertain. She threw the best birthday parties for her children and grandchildren and she celebrated every holiday, with Christmas being her favorite. She loved taking pictures and creating photo albums. Mona also enjoyed long walks, accompanied by their dog, Harvey. She enjoyed watching true crime documentaries and likes music and dancing. She was a devoted wife to her husband Bob for 38 years.

Mona leaves to mourn, her loving husband Robert (Bobby) Cephas, Sr. her children, Tanisha Danielle Fluker (Darius, Sr.), Nicki Tenielle Cephas (Law), Justin Michael Cephas (Chantelle), Ramone Allen Cephas, Jamar Robert Cephas, Julia Starr Cephas (Lataiz, Jr) and two stepsons, Robert Henry Cephas, Jr. and Darin William Cephas. Her 13 grandchildren, Darius, Jr., Jordan, Janiyah, Autumn, Jaslyn, Leah, Iyanna Juliette, Alyssa, Justice, Brooke, Peyton, Chianne, Journee, and a new edition on the way. Mona is survived by seven siblings, and a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, family, and friends all whom she loved and touched deeply.
