Clifford Arthur Thompson Jr. was born on January 21, 1955, in Pittsburgh, to the late Clifford Arthur Thompson Sr. and Agnes Marietta Arnold Thompson. He was the youngest of four children.
Clifford attended Bethesda Presbyterian Church in Homewood, Pennsylvania.
As a young boy he loved to play with guns, earning him the nickname "Pistol Pete" and was also known as the protector in his family. Clifford became an avid fisherman with the skills he acquired from his Father and passed those skills down generations to come.
Clifford attended Westinghouse High School where he played varsity football. In 1974 after graduation high school, Clifford gained employment with Wilborn Electric Co. eventually leaving work for PNC Bank. In 1978, he began he began his career as a Pennsylvania State Trooper and after 25 years of service he retired in 2003. Following his retirement, Clifford and his loving wife, Bernetta of 30 years moved to Jacksonville, North Carolina where his love for driving landed him employment with Onslow County Transit and Napa Auto.
Clifford enjoyed fishing, music, sports, and sweets. He loved playing his Xbox and PlayStation with anyone willing to play or learn. He enjoyed teaching his family how to play chess, dominos, back gammon, etc. His favorite pastimes were going out on his boat and riding his motorcycle.
Most of all Clifford LOVED his family.
Clifford peacefully transitioned on September 1, 2023. He was preceded in death by his older brother, Emmet Arthur Thompson and Grandson, Camari Thompson.
Clifford leaves to mourn and cherish his memories his loving wife, Bernetta; his children, Clifford A. Thompson III (Artishae). Corey McCary (Dupree), Kenyada Brimage (Kelly), Ayanna Brimage and Mukuta Brimage; nineteen grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren' two sisters, Patricia Wilborn (Jerrold) and Lynn Ellen Caves; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
