Clarence Edward Poellnitz Jr was born in Brownsvillle PA to the proud parents Anna May Poellnitz and Clarence Edward Poellnitz Sr on August 3, 1947. He was the second to the oldest of 6 children; Rosie Poellnitz, Richard Poellnitz, Beverly Poellnitz, Baron Poellnitz and Doreen Poellnitz. From Brownsville Clarence moved to Mount Oliver (Saint Clair Village) with Yvonne Barnnett. Two children came from this union; Bridget Wilson and Clarence Poellnitz III. From there Clarence moved to Shady Side with then wife Kathy Poellinitz from this union came one child; Alex Poellnitz. Eventually settling in Penn Hills. Clarence also known as Skip graduated from Brashear high school. In time graduating from The University of Pittsburgh with his bachelors in Psychology”98”. Skip loved to help others. He performed community outreach in the late 80s participating in the needle exchange program for individuals who contracted HIV/AIDS. This was the beginning of his long life of helping others. After graduating PITT, he began his career counseling individuals with some form of substance use disorder. Landing him at the Alpha House for over 20 years. Clarence (Skip) enjoyed feeding the ducks in his free time. He was highly known for pulling pranks on his children and grandchildren. Always singing “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-DA”. He had a heart of gold and a smile and laugh that was unforgettable. He will truly be missed. Proceeding in his death Richard Poellnitz and Parents Anna May and Clarence Poellnitz. He leaves to mourn in his passing three children; Bridget Wilson, Clarence Poellnitz III and Alex Poellnitz, four brothers and sisters Five grandchildren, one great grandchild and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
