Christopher Cameron Snyder Sr, 67, of Pittsburgh, was born November 15, 1955 to William E. Snyder, Sr. and Vera Mary Warden Snyder. God called him home Friday, September 1, 2023. He started his education in Pittsburgh Roman Catholic Church, Holy Rosary School and was very active as an altar boy. He graduated from Schenley High School in 1974 and graduated from Apprenticeship Plumbers Local Union #27 School receiving his Journeyman's License in 1980. He participated in Operation Dig Inc., which helped break down racial barriers in Pittsburgh's trade unions. Christopher retired from the plumbing profession in 2018 from Allegheny County.
Christopher enjoyed fishing, biking, listening to oldies, movies, good food, holiday gatherings, big family vacations, night drives, playing tennis with Teresita, and taking care of his other kids (family dogs). Of course, he truly loved his profession of plumbing and had led installations in nuclear power plants, oil refineries, several Pittsburgh hospitals, the Pittsburgh courthouse where he led installing the first womens bathrooms, and even installed most of the plumbing in the jail featured in the movie The Silence of the Lambs.
Christopher is survived by spouse, Ellen Teresita Snyder, four daughters, Chelsea Marie Snyder, 31, Carmen Leah Snyder, 29, Caylin Nicole Snyder, 27, Christin Cara Snyder, 27, three sons, Christopher Cameron Snyder Jr, 47, Jason Cassidy Snyder, 44, Joseph William Snyder, 31. six grandchildren, Cylie Snyder, 26, Jason Snyder Jr, 24, Jayla Snyder, 22, Brooke Snyder, 22, Madison Snyder, 20, Jada Snyder, 6, two great-grandchildren, Roman, 1, Mason, 1. Christopher was preceded in death by the recent passing of his beloved sister, Celeste L. Bacon, brother, Ivan Snyder, and brother, Bruce Snyder. He is survived by three sisters and one brother-in-law, Renee Tolliver and her husband Reggie, Satara Snyder-Sparrow, Jane Snyder, two brothers and sisters-in-law, William E. Snyder Jr. and his wife Veronica, David Snyder and his wife Patty. Christopher is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
