Obituary

Charmayne Ellen Stubbs-Godfrey was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on September 7, 1957. She was one of seven children born to the late Walter and Ethel Stubbs.

Charmaybe was educated in the Pittsburgh Public School system and graduated from Westinghouse High School. She furthered her education by attending the Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC).

As a child, she attended Refuge Temple Church of our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith. She loved the Lord and served him with all of her heart.

Later in life she met and married Lawrence Godfrey at the Greater Bethlehem Temple Church. To this union, two children, Lawrence (Boo) and Carlos, were born. Charmayne loved and adored her family. She had an electrifying personality that made everyone laugh. She was a selfless individual that would always show kindness and help those who were in need. Her house was truly a home where everyone felt invited.

Her children, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews were her heart. Family was a very important part of her life. Her love for them was matchless. She was always positive in her thinking and communication. She was truly a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Charmayne's current church was New Evangelistic Ministries where she served faithfully.

She loved potting plats, designing pottery, loved singing and listening to old-school music, loved playing Bingo, and loved watching Saturday Night Live.

On May 4th, 2023 Charmayne departed this life for life eternal. She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence Godfrey; father, Walter (Abbe) Stubbs Jr.; mother, Ethel M. Stubbs, brothers, Lawrence E. Stubbs, Robert (Bobby) Stubbs, Ronald G. Stubbs, and Kenneth L. Stubbs. She leaves cherished memories to her children, Lawrence (Boo) Godfrey, and Carlos Godfrey, grandchildren, Marcus Hart, Markell Gajewski, Ta'nya Godfrey, Ryan Bush, Mateo Godfrey, Noah
