Carcelia Richardson born on August 9, 1930, to the late Maxine and Robert Johnson.
Carcelia graduated from Booker T. Washington High school in 1949.
In 1951, Carcelia married Nathaniel Blackman and together they had 3 children, Ivy, Nadine, and Nathaniel Jr. Later on she remarried Bernard Richardson.
Carcelia started in the work force at Monongahela Hospital for 10 years as a nurse’s aide. After retiring from the hospital, she established and started a Dormacary Home Care in Donora, PA.
Carcelia joined St. Paul Baptist Church in 1951. She held many positions in auxiliaries within the church; usher board, inspirational choir, secretary of 1 days mission, church clerk, and secretary, trustee and deaconess.
Carecelia departed this life on May 7, 2022. She was preceded in death by son, Nathaniel Blackman; brothers, Stewart Johnson and Weston Oday Johnson; sisters, Rosa Lee Smith and Carrolla Epps; nephew, Labrone Epps; and grandchildren, Kendrick Weston Blackman, Isha Tyree, and Nicolas Tarpley.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory, daughters, Ivy Blackman and Nadine (Anthony) Thorpe; grandchildren, Russell (Nadine) Tyree, Caquaine (Toron) Chapman, Timiko (Bertram) Winn, Paris, Brittany, Andre, Nathaniel Jr., Kenny, Loretta (Eric) Day; 21 great- grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends.
