Bruce Patterson Obituary

Bruce William Patterson was born October 28, 1970, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. He was the oldest son of Catherine Patterson and his late stepfather Edward Patterson. Bruce was lovingly adopted by Edward at the age of two. Bruce completed his high school education from Peabody High School of Pittsburgh Public School System in 1989. Soon after graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served four years and was discharged in 1993. During this time, he worked on the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier as one of the line chefs for the commanding officers. One of his greatest desires was to become a chef and this experience gave him the opportunity to pursue his dream. In the late 1900s, Bruce was diagnosed with an inoperable cancerous brain tumor. Although he suffered a torturous all-consuming disease for most of his adult life, he was a joy to be around. His smile and loving ways were contagious and a blessing to our family and friends. Bruce succumbs to his disease on June 22, 2024, to be united with his loved ones who preceded him in death. He leaves to mourn his memory, his mother, Catherine Patterson, three sisters, Victoria Patterson Dawson, Netta Washington and Crystal Durham; two brothers, Leonard Washington and Edward Patterson; three nephews Demar (DJ), Carlton, and Glenn; two nieces Erin Michael, and Sadie. His mother’s sisters, Veronica Snyder (husband William Snyder, Jr.), L’Serena Frazier (late husband, Vance Frazier, Sr.) Saunder Black (husband James Black) and a host of other Family and Friends.
