Betty Constance Chatman was born on October 31, 1935 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Laura Elizabeth Dent and Andrew Lewis Dent. She was a beautiful, happy baby full of life and personality. Betty was a joy to her mother and father.
Betty attended the Pittsburgh Public Schools and graduated from Westinghouse High School.
After graduation she was employed for 40+ years at Aramark Corporation which is a part of PNC Park and Heinz Stadium. Betty enjoyed going to work and had wonderful friends.
She was an avid Steelers and Pirates fan who enjoyed watching the games in comfort of her home.
Betty was a praying woman who spent quality time in prayer with her dearest friend and prayer sister, Anita Ghafoor.
On Wednesday, September 23, 2020, God decided it was time for her to come home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Frank Chapman; daughter, Nena Elizabeth Brown; and brothers, Andrew L. Dent Jr. and Ronald K. Dent.
She loved her family dearly and will be missed by her sister, Barbara “Babs” Dent; grandchildren, Desiree Brown Harris and Kenneth Glenn Dixon; great-grandchildren, Marvin Lloyd II and Camryn Elizabeth Harris; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
Betty will be laid at rest at the Monongahela Cemetery with her parents and loved ones. She will be sadly missed.
