It is with deep sorrow that we share the passing of our immediate family matriarch.
Bessie Kirk was born may 23, 1932 to the late Elizabeth Boling and Curtis Kirk in Lineville , Alabama located in clay county. She was the 5 child born into a family of 12 children. At a young age her parents relocated the family to Pittsburgh , PA by the bus in the 1940s , where Bessie went on to attend Bloomfield elementary and later Schleny highschool.
Emerging into her adulthood years she went on to have three children (Roy , Chuck , and Sherry) . In her spare time she enjoyed music at “juke joints” and hanging out with friends . Later on she met Herman White and they were married June 23 1960 , making her Bessie White. As they built a family they moved to a farm in Creekside located in Indiana , PA. Bessie held a job as a nurse practitioner at the VA hospital. Herman and Bessie went on to have 5 more children, bringing her total to eight (two sets of twins). In the mist of this she was also well traveled both in the states and out of the country even mentioning having been to Africa. She also enjoyed gambling down at the River’s casino playing slots , black jack and penny machines. Bessie White was more than just a wife , mother and grandmother. She was a woman with a heart of gold and a guiding light to many. Her stories are full of wisdom and will live on as a constant inspiration for generations to come. She had the ability to make everyone feel loved , always lending a helping hand , and leaving an infectious humor on others.
Though Bessie has left us , her spirit lives on in the countless memories we shared and the lessons she imparted. Her legacy is one of love , unity , laughter , and unwavering support. We will carry her memory in our hearts forever. As she is proceeded in death by her parents , 10 siblings , children Roy A. Jones, Brian S. White , twin daughters Denise Roberson and Diane Daviston , Sharon Y. Jones , and her grandson Eric S. White. Bessie leaves behind one sister Carrie McCray , sons Charles O. Jones , David H. White , and daughter Carrie I. Cole-White. Along with 13 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren.
Rest in peace , dear Bessie. You will be deeply missed , but never forgotten.
