Armelia Pollard, affectionately known as Mitt, was born on April 17, 1930 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Iola Lee Sims of Birmingham, Alabama, and William Smith of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She grew up in Pittsburgh, attending Fifth Avenue High School. She married Charles M. Pollard, Jr and from that union came their son Charles M. Pollard, Ill.
Mitt became an LPN and helped others by working at the Veterans Administration in 1982 until her retirement in 2015. She loved the warm weather and traveled to Florida often. ALL the home shopping networks become her favorite pass time!
On December 19, 2021, Mitt passed away peacefully. Her son, brothers: Eugene Thomas, William G. Smith, Andrew Scott, and sister Verries Whitlow preceded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her daughter-in-law, Donna Pollard; grandson Hassaun (Storie), two great-grandchildren Lyric Victoria and Jayden Jakar, sister-in-law Carolyn Smith and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He wipes away all tears from their eyes and death will be no more, Neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.
The memorial service will be Tuesday at 2:00pm. Here is the info:
