Alphonso Ellis Jerome Johnson was born on August 2, 1957, in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania to the late James and Marie Johnson.
Jerome was the youngest and only son of their four children.
He attended Westinghouse High School and classes at the North Side Campus of Community College of Allegheny County, CCAC.
"Big Hand" or "Jerry" as he was affectionately known was gainfully employed at Action Industries for fifteen plus years. He was
also employed at the General Electric Company and Penn Center Realtor as a Lieutenant of Security until his health failed him.
Jerome previously served on the board of Trustees at Mt. Ararat Baptist Church and enjoyed his position and his church family.
Jerome loved his family and most importantly the fellowship and closeness he felt with every one of them. Traveling was never an issue when it came time to attend the family reunions in Virginia and he wasn't a stranger to eating every dish that was carefully planned and
cooked. He was a huge Steelers fan and loved to attend the home games and/or watch them play on television.
Jerome was a strong-willed excellent devoted father, brother, and uncle. He provided love, compassion, and empathy to those who knew him.
He was admired by most of his peers.
Jerome received his call to depart this life for life eternal on January 6, 2020. He was preceded in death by his eldest sister, Victoria M.
Johnson.
He leaves to mourn six children, Monique Johnson, Darlon Smith, Tarus Smith (Chivon), Terrell Smith (Angela), Sir William Arthur Prince (Danelle),
and Anthony Prince: two sisters, Catherine Williams Arthur (Albert) and Diane Howell (Alvin), one uncle, Samuel Harris: thirteen grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren
and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
