Alan Strosnider Obituary

Alan Eugene Strosnider, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away at UPMC East on Monday, January 22, 2024. Born on June 1, 1966, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to Ernest Eugene Strosnider and Elsie Ann (Logue) Strosnider.

Alan enjoyed fishing, riding motorcycles, music, playing and watching football, watching scary movies, playing video games, watching wrestling, and spending quality time making memories with his family at Sandbridge Beach. Several people will attest to the exceptional nurse Alan was, and how he poured his heart and soul into caring for others. He had a very unique sense of humor and was always good for bringing light and laughter to any situation.

Alan graduated from Albert Gallatin High School in 1984. He was the first in his family to pursue any type of higher education, earning a Bachelor’s of Nursing from Mercy Medical School in 1992.

Alan began his career at Uniontown Hospital as a registered nurse. He was a proud hospice nurse for the late Mr. Eberly. Later, Alan worked at Cherry Tree Nursing Center and Village at Pennwood as a nurse supervisor. His last position was at Concordia Health Center, also as a nurse supervisor.

Alan is survived by his wife, Carolyn Brown; sister, Kimberly (Strosnider) Rodriguez (Sam); daughters, Kaitlyn (John) Prekrel and Sara Strosnider; son, Alan John (AJ) Strosnider; grandson, Drew Prekrel; step-daughters, Crystal Bray (Byron) and Cherel Puremba; step-son, Charles Brown (Molly); and many step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Alan is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Elsie Strosnider.

A private memorial service will be held at House of Law in Penn Hills. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The American Heart Association in his honor.
