Wilbert Hucks

Wilbert Hucks was born in Jacksonville, N.C. on July 8, 1929. He was a twin to his brother Charlie and was the 12th child of 15 children born to the late Angus and Andrew Hucks.
He attended and graduated from Georgetown High School and in 1947 Wilbert moved to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved in with his Aunt Nancy, who lived in Homewood.
Wilbert met and married Jacqueline Hill on April 30, 1977. To this union two sons, Brent El and Andrew John were born. He also enjoyed raising his two daughters, Daryl Johnson and Lezlie Edwards.
Wilbert was a wonderful husband and a fantastic and dedicated father who was crazy about his kids.
Wilbert was employed at Westinghouse Corporation for a number of years. He was also employed at the City of Pittsburgh Refuse Department for 30 years and retired in 1993.
He loved to go fishing but “all he ever caught was a cold.” He loved the Pittsburgh Steelers Football Team. (Go Steelers) the Pirates and Bowling.
His Favorite Pass time was the Lottery and the Casino. His extended family was a big part of his life. He loved to drive to Jacksonville, N.C. to be with them. He enjoyed hanging out and partying with his siblings and old friends.
The Lord came for his son on July 6, 2018.
He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Constance Hucks; two sons, Andrew John Hucks and Brent El Hucks; two daughters, Lezlie Edwards and Daryl Johnson (Luther III); surviving brother, Herbert Lenbird Hucks (Maggie Artis); 13 grandchildren: Brenttney, Brent Jr., Lataya, Brenia, Labrea, Malachi, Ayanna, Yolanda, Shaunda, Travis, David, Christian, Luther Jr.; 5 Great- Grandchildren, Dajour, Tiana, Amiya, Jada, Josiah, and a host of Nephews, Nieces and very dear friends.
