Waymon “PoJo” Dorsey as he was affectionately known was born on May 27, 1932 Derring, Missouri to the late Mattie and George Dorsey. He was the middle son of eleven children. After relocating to Pittsburgh with his family Waymon attended a Vocational School to further education. He was employed at many different steel mills and was also a construction worker for Local # 373 Union. Before retiring Waymon was employed at the Port Authority Transportation Company as a maintenance engineer. Waymon met and married the love of his life, Janice Elizabeth Wright. To this union four children, Evette, Sharon, Sheila, Lachelle was born. Waymon was a fantastic father and husband who enjoyed spending quality with his family. He was an excellent host while barbecuing for his family and friends at the seasonal family gatherings. Waymon was a partying and love have fun. His personality was gripping and he loved people who they were. Waymon gave his life to Christ and was blessed to be a part of God’s Kingdom. On April 21, 2019 Waymon departed this life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Janice Elizabeth Wright and eight siblings. He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Evette (Richard) Harvey, Sharon Huff, Sheila (Bryan) Boswell, Lachelle Dorsey; seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and one great- greatgrandson; two brothers, Jeff (Peggy) Dorsey and Lurthen Dorsey; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Waymon was special, gentle and sweet man and always generously giving. He will be sadly missed.
