Sonja Rae Small-Lyman was born December 29, 1942 in Hampton , VA to the late John A. Small and Inez Small .
She attended Hampton Virginia Public Schools and was a graduate of George E.P. Pheonix High School Class of 1960.
She worked in the medical field for 20 years caring for the elderly at the St. James Home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John A. Small and Inez Small; Husband, John N. Lyman; grandson, Ricky Lyman ; three brothers, Peter Small (Evelyn) of Las Vegas, NV,
Gerald Small (Denise), William Small; two sisters, Cynthia Sm ll-Pollard of Hampton, VA and Sandra Mills of Philadelphia, PA and a host of aunts and grandchildren and great-grandchildren and many friends
