Sherry June Johnson-Carter was born in McDonald, PA with her deceased twin brother, Terry Johnson on September 29, 1946 to her parents LaVerne Anderson-Johnson on September 29, 1946 to her parents LaVerne Anderson-Johnson and William (Sonny Johnson.  Sherry grew up in the Homewood Area of Pittsburgh.  Sherry graduated in 1965 from Westingohuse High School.  She married her High School sweetheart the late Keith Carter March of 1966. Their union birthed a little girl Candace June Carter-Whindleton.

Sherry was a lady who loved and loved hard as one of her cousins Kirk Anderson would say.  She never met any strangers.  She called EVERYONE "Baby" and that made you feel so loved.

Sherry loved the Lord and she made no excuses for her affection and love toward Jesus.  She also was a praying woman.  She took prayer very seriously and was faithful to it.  If someone asked her to pray for them on their situation she faithfully took it to the Lord and interceded.  She received many prayer requests while watching the local news.  She would turn off her television and begin praying.

Sherry loved her family and was very proud to be a Grandmother and also a great grandmother.  She was affectionately called "Grandma Sherry".  Even her great niece, Laila called her Aunt Grandma Sherry.  She enjoyed watching Hallmark and Christmas movies eating popcorn and pretzels with her favorite daughter Candace..lol, Sherry loved her daughter and was very proud of and supportive of all her daughter's endeavors. Sherry's favorite game shows that she faithfully watched daily were, The Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune.  She also enjoyed laughing and talking on the telephone for hours with her friends and family.  She always made herself available for any friend or family member who needed an ear to listen and to be encouraged; even in the middle of the night.

Sherry was a dog lover especially German Shepherds.  She also was a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan!!  Sherry's favorite meals that she enjoyed cooking for her family and friends were scalloped potatoes, potato salad, fried potatoes, fried chicken wings and her famous "cheeseburgers".  Sherry's favorite phrase that she would always say, "It's Going to Be All Good Baby"!

She leaves her daughter, Candace Whindleton (Wade), grandchildren:  Brandi Whindleton, Wade Whindleton II, Dominic Whindleton, Tyler Whindleton and Great Grandchildren; Elijah Arrington and Kaia Neal.  Also her niece from her late brother, Terry Johnson, affectionally called her twin, Rosetta Eddens (Keith) and their family, Uncle George Aston & Wife, Cousins, Nieces, Nephews and many, many friends.
