Richard Edward Patterson was born in Pittsburgh, PA on November 19, 1934 to Maceo and Dorris Patterson.
Richard "Dicky" was born with cerebral palsy and doctors only gave him a short life expectancy of 18 years with no hope of being able to walk. As years passed, Richard lived to prove them wrong. He overcame all odds and lived a happy life and full life.
Dicky not only started walking, but he went on to attend Penn Hills School District where he graduated in 1956.
He lived his life to the fullest, never complaining and always helping others.
In 1968, he went on to find and marry his life partner, Betty Lou Clagette.
Richard made sure to keep himself busy, never sitting still for too long. He mostly spent time spreading the good news of the Bible as a Jehovah's Witness and working for the Goodwill for many years.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, Maceo and Dorris Patterson, devoted wife Betty Lou Patterson, sisters, June Elizabeth Berger, Antoinette Patterson, Claudette Fields and brother, James Patterson.
He is survived by siblings, Maceo II (Sherrie), Norman (Armeta), Donald Earl, John Andrew (Julia), Walter, Charlotte (Jessie), Eleanor Jean Robinson and Casey Patterson.
Richard will truly be Missed!
