Obituary
Pauline Brown Touchstone was called home to be with the Lord on March 7, 2019. She is finally rejoicing with her Lord, two sisters, two brothers and husband, Lonnie G. Touchstone, who preceded her in death.
Pauline was born on March 21, 1932 in New Kensington, PA to the late Benjamin and Elzora Brown. She matriculated through the Westmoreland County School System and graduated from Ken High in 1950.
In 1952, Pauline moved to Pittsburgh, PA and married the love of her life, Lonnie G. Touchstone. Together, they raised two children, Kimberly Frances Gittings and Jonathan Scott Touchstone.
Pauline enjoyed working with people in the fashion retail business and was employed many years by Liberty Men's Formals as well as other fashion and children's boutiques.
Pauline accepted Christ at a young age and was baptized at Calvary Baptist Church in New Kensington, PA. She became a member of St. James A.M.E. Church in 1952 when it was located on North Euclid Street. She has been an active member of the Willing Workers and lead the charge for many years as chairperson for the Annual Palm Sunday Breakfast.
Her greatest joy was her children and grandchildren. The loving and joyous memories of her will sustain us in the days to come. She leaves to cherish her memory, her two loving children Kimberly F Gittings and Jonathan Scott Touchstone, son-in-law Pastor David Gittings, Jr., daughter-in-law Mary Touchstone, 11 grandchildren, 16, great grandchildren, brother Benjamin Brown, Jr., two sisters Dorothy Davis and Gene Porter, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
