Monica Clarke Obituary

Our beautiful Monica, resident of San Diego, California died peacefully with her dad Robert, daughter Destiny, cousin Lavasia and aunt Frieda by her side at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. Born on May 24, 1969, Monica was born to Robert E. Jackson and Marlene Hankins. Monica was also born along side her twin sister Tanya Hankins-Hollinger.

Monica leaves behind her loving supportive parents, Robert and Marlene. One twin sister Tanya, two adorable children Marquice and Destiny. An amazing step-mom Rose Jackson, step-brother Earl Givner, step-sister Lisa Givner; Awsome caregiver Cousin Lavasia Jackson. Two nephews Andrew (ajaye) and Paris (pjaye). Two nieces, Ivory and Bree Aunna. Cousins Shawn, Christine and Nicole (nooky). Monica also leaves behind her and Ma DeeDee Estes, step-brothers Hassain, Nadon. Step sisters, Lenikki, Chequila, Aneesha, Chemera. And a host of aunts, uncles cousins, great nieces and nephews that loved her dearly.
Go ahead and spread your wings my beautiful twin, for you are soaring high. Until we meet again, stay forever beautiful and graceful. I love you.
The twins had a bond like no other, early on as toddlers Tanya took care and nurtured Monica, as little girls they would play their twin tricks on Mommy to save each other from getting in trouble, they only got in trouble because Tanya forgot to tell Monica she acted like her on the phone and to do her chores. As young adults the twins lived in different States, but continued their twin powers. They purchased cars on the same day and had the same hair-do at the same time. They would call each other to find the other shared the same exact experience. As of recent Tanya along side of cousin Lavasia traveled to California, to first get Monica healthy enough to travel, then relocated Monica back home to be with her love ones.
Marlene and twins relocated to San Diego, California in 1981. The twins attended Herbert Hoover High and graduated in 1987.
Monica work for Athem Blue Cross for 12 years. She was acknowledged repeatedly for excellence. Employee of the month, employee of the quarter and customer service excellence awards.
Monica was blessed with two beautiful children Marquice J. Hankins, and Destiny Zshanae Thornton, who are 10 years apart to the day both born September 12th. (Now that’s some twin stuff).
Monica was briefly married to Carlos Clarke.
Monica loved singing and dancing, enjoyed spending time with her love ones, she was very outgoing and assertive. Our beautiful Monica had a heart of gold, very compassionate and assisted anyone in need. She also had the opportunity to do a 3 day walk for cancer awareness to support a friend, not knowing that she would subcom to the same disease she had championed.
Monica was a woman of cleanliness. You could always find her cleaning up her house all the time. She would spot the smallest of smallest debris left on the floor. Up to her last moments she had us all on board with her SERIOUS ocd. (Daaaaaaaaaad). (Turn the blanket around, the tag has to be on the bottom).
Monica was proceded in death by her brother-n-law Edward Hollinger.
