Obituary
In Pittsburgh Pennsylvania as the leaves fell, a gift was given by God to William and Carrie Rodgers on October 23, 1927. A baby girl! She was named Mildred "Babe" Brown. Babe as Mildred was affectionately known, went through the Pittsburgh School system and graduated High School as a proud Westinghouse High School Bulldog. Following graduation, Babe married the love of her life, Harry Brown and this union produced two loving and devoted children, Lorraine and Kenneth. Accepting Christ at an early age, Babe was a dedicated member of St. James Baptist Church for over 70 years, serving for many years as the church pianist. On Sunday, August 12th at 12:37 pm, Babe was called home to her mansion in the sky while surrounded by her loving children. Babe was preceded in death by three brothers; Ernest, Warren and Alvin Rodgers and three sisters; Sarah Hargraves, Mabel Jones. and Helen Lawler. Babe leaves to cherish her memory her two children, Lorraine and Kenneth (Brenda), Marvin Edward Rodgers (Lorraine), three grandchildren, Kenneth Peagler, Richard Brady and Isaiah Brown (Michelle), one great grandchild, Vincent Brady and a host of other caring relatives and friends. God saw that she was weary and the hills were hard to climb. He gently closed her eyes and whispered, " Peace be thine”. Done by the order of the family
