Margaret Williams-Thorton

Margaret Williams Thorton was born on July 5, 1926 in Starks, Florida to the late James and Alberta Hillie.

"Candy Lady" as she was affectionately called was the sister of Ruby Riley and Johnny Frazier.

She met the love of her life, Larry Thorton and at the time of her death they celebrated 53 years together. Margaret loved to cook, sell candy and work when she was able. Later in life she loved to watch Bishop Flemming and cowboy movies on television while eating cereal.

Margaret gave her life to the Lord at the Northside Institutional Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Bishop E.M. Thorpe.

Margaret departed this life on August 10, 2019. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Alberta Hillie; siblings, Kim Williams, Barry Jean Williams, Cindy Williams, Rita Swan, Sheri Thorton, and Larry Thorton, Jr.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Sandra Burnside, Dora Jackson, Terri Hillie, Tracey Williams-Chapell, and Peter Thorton; a multitude of grandchildren, and great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.

She will be sadly missed but never forgotten by her family and friends.
