Lonzo Charles Gardner departed this life on Saturday, April 13, 2019. Lonzo was affectionately known to friends and family as "Milky". He was born February 17, 1957 in Monongahela Hospital in New Eagle, PA to the late Lonzo Charles Gardner, Sr. and Nettie Marie Ellis Gardner who survives. Lonzo is also survived by his only sister, Marzelia (Mize) Gardner of Monessen, PA who lovingly gave Lonzo his nickname “Milky” because of her making daily runs to the corner store to purchase milk for her baby brother. Milky graduated from Ringgold High School, Monongahela, PA in May of 1976 where he starred on the boys varsity basketball team. He was employed by Fourth Street Barbecue Packing in Speers, PA. Lonzo previously worked for Tri County Access in Donora, Pa as well as at Waste Management in Washington, PA, where he was employed for over 20 years
. Lonzo is survived by his mother, Marie Ellis Gardner of Donora, PA, wife, Dawn Price Gardner of Monessen, PA as well as children, Alonzo (Yolanda) Dixon of Georgia, Nathaniel Dixon of Minnesota, Charcherie Tartt of Pittsburgh, PA. and Lorenzo (Monica) Gardner of Monessen, PA. Milky is also survived by 13 grandchildren and one great-grandson. Also surviving are step-children, Tiffany Price, Ronald and Ronette Harrison. He is also survived by aunts, Mary Harris of Garnerville, NY, Barbara (Vernon) Flowers of Washington, PA and great-aunt Marge Peterson of Atlanta, Georgia and his special niece, Marie Gardner Arnold of Donora, PA. and great-nieces Mahogany Brown, Imani Arnold, and great-nephew, Quinte' Brown all of Donora, PA. He is also survived by many cousins, and friends, and extended family. In Monessen and Donora and the surrounding area, Milky was well known and liked by nearly everyone who knew him. Sadly, God broke our hearts to prove that he only takes the best and he will be surely missed.
