Lamont Darnell Carey

Lamont D. Carey, 24, departed this life unexpectedly Saturday, November 25, 2017.  Lamont was born September 11, 1993, at Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA and was a lifelong area resident.

Lamont was educated in the Pittsburgh and Woodland Hills School Districts having attended Westinghouse High and Woodland Hills High Schools.  Later receiving his GED.  Lamont grew up in Homewood where he played little football for the Homewood Bulldogs.  He continued that love of football in high school.  Lamont was eagerly anticipating the December arrival of his son, Lamont Darnell Carey, Jr.

Lamont leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Priscilla Short; his father, Darnell Carey; fiance', Alecia Jackson; daughter, Laniyah Carey; maternal grandmother, Mardine Bunum; paternal grandmother, Carlotta Carey; sisters, Soncierra Lopez-Short, Elizabeth Short, Dawn Diamond and Chrissy Carey; brothers, Darrell Carey, Christian Short, Darnell Carey and DeWayne Carey, all of Pittsburgh; many beloved relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by a brother, William Mills; great aunts, Elizabeth Short and Janie Mae Pate; and best friend Antwann DeOndre Smith.
