James Henry Chapman
February 14, 1937 ~ May 27, 2017 (age 80) 80 Years OldJames Henry Chapman, went home to be with the Lord on May 27, 2017 at 5:20 pm the John Kane Regional Nursing Center where he had been a resident for the past year and a half. He was born on February 14, 1937 at Magee Hospital in Pittsburgh, Pa. He was the last of seven Children born to the late James Chapman and Louise Stringer Chapman. He attended Pittsburgh Public schools beginning with the now defunct Letschee School and ending with the now defunct Fifth Ave. High School. He enlisted in and served in the U. S. Navy. Following his discharge from his Military Service he gained employment at an Iron worker. He was preceded in death by his father, James Chapman who passed away when he was six weeks old, His 5 brothers, Herman, William Sr., Robert, Samuel, and Roscoe, his mother Louise Chapman Byrd, and one granddaughter, Elisia Jackson. He leaves behind to celebrate his home going, four daughters, LaVette Biggert, LaSchelle Chapman, LaNette Chapman, and Ruby Thompson. Four grandchildren and eight greatgrandchildren, Sister Bernice Chapman Warfield, sister-in-law, Carolyn Macklin Chapman, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
